While studying at Smith College, Annie-Sage interned with Theater Askew, running lights in The Bowery Poetry Club's tiny little PBR-drenched booth for Bianca Leigh. Her first role in NYC was in Flux Theatre Ensemble's Menders (dir. Heather Cohn, The Gym at Judson), when she took the stage as an understudy instead of her regular role selling concessions. She continued in NYC's indie theater scene with devised, experimental and immersive performances at venues including La Mama ETC, WoW Cafe, The Tank, HERE! Arts Center, Stonewall Inn, The Duplex. and Dixon Place. She is a past company member of {Your Name Here: A Queer Theater Company}, and has collaborated with visual artists, dancers, musicians and improvisers for live performance.
In 2022, she was selected for The Players Theater's Self-Production Residency for her longform experimental play, The Keepin' Cozy Show starring her original character "Kitten Solloway"and a rotating company of actors, improvisers, and artists. After devising 6 pieces at The Players Theater, she is continuing to develop work that combines improv and theater.
In addition to film/voice over credits, performance highlights include playing "Rachel Faucette" in the immersive Passion Nation from director Bill Castellino (Broadway: Desperate Measures, CAGNEY),
playing the love interest in Untameable, an immersive diamond heist across the first level and courtyard of St. John's Church in Brooklyn,
a monologue in We Are Theatre, produced by The Guerilla Girls at Cherry Lane,
and originating the title role in JULIANA, an episodic histoy of queer life in pre-war NYC that ran for three years at The Duplex, NYC and was brought to The Kennedy Center.
Annie-Sage has studied at classical and contemporary performance at The Barrow Group, T. Schreiber Studios, Stella Adler and Primary Stages, as well as improv classes at Upright Citizens Brigade and The People's Improv Theatre.
