Cheers, 2013

I’m not a huge fan of New Years.

I don’t really like making New Years resolutions.  I don’t know anyone who’s been able to stick to them for more than a month.  Instead, I like to make a list of everything I’ve achieved, everyone I’ve met, the new things I tried, and things I tried that…didn’t work out.  I always forget about resolutions and honestly, I just really love lists.  Below is my Year in Acting list (trust me, I have several more fun lists that I shouldn’t post).

2013 Was:

  • Working on Three Sisters Experiment at WoW Café in the East Village (a dream I’ve had since reading about Split Britches, Holly Hughes and the like)
  • Joining {Your Name Here} theatre company
  • Working with Whip Angels (performance art outfit)
  • Taking my first classes at Actors Connection and The Network
  • Continuing classes at Upright Citizens Brigade and Stella Adler
  • Taking Terry Schreiber’s Advanced Scene Study class at T. Schreiber Studios
  • Experiencing my first Broadway cattle-call EPA’s (the non-union edition)
  • Appearing in the first staged production of To Tread Upon a Spark after participating in the preliminary reading a few years ago
  • First meeting with a commercial agent
  • Being invited to participate as an actor for a closed workshop group for playwrights
  • Filming my first web series, SCAMMERS
  • Founding Gotham Books and Letters arts group
  • Getting cast in Dysfunction, a short film
  • Signing on to a podcast — more info in 2014
  • New headshots!
  • Starting rehearsal for Bedlam Ensemble’s The Tennessee Williams Project (opening 1/15!!)
